Jayden Daniels: A College Football Superstar

From Sun Bowl MVP to Heisman Trophy Winner

LSU Quarterback Makes History

Jayden Daniels, the senior quarterback for the Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers, has become the first FBS quarterback to account for at least 350 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in a single game.

Daniels achieved this historic feat in LSU's 55-30 victory over the Purdue Boilermakers in the Citrus Bowl on January 2, 2023. He threw for 350 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 115 yards and two touchdowns.

Daniels has been a standout player for the Tigers throughout his career. As a sophomore at Arizona State University, he was named the Sun Bowl MVP after leading the Sun Devils to a 20-14 victory over the Florida State Seminoles.

In his first season at LSU, Daniels led the Tigers to a 10-4 record and a berth in the SEC Championship Game. He was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year and finished eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting.

Daniels' performance in the Citrus Bowl earned him the prestigious Heisman Trophy, making him the third LSU player to win the award after Billy Cannon (1959) and Joe Burrow (2019).
